Frannie, PDR Rescue
Hi all., I wanted to share these pics. A girl I used to work with moved to Texas and bought a ranch. She has lots of dogs, cows, calves and a pet deer. Yes, a pet deer. The deer was there when she bought the house . I guess the mom died and the previous home owner raised her from a baby, Now she lives there. She has a collar like the dogs, and is well loved. She sleeps in the house at times too. Too cute. Im going to visit her soon. Also, she adopted a GSP from Paul & Lin(Pound Dog Rescue) she is in one of the pics. Frannie is the white GSP. Thought I would share.

Remi Lotus Wolf AKA Na' May
Remi, the smallest of the littermates has found a wonderful home. He came to us so small and weak, and on the threshold of death. At times, during the long nights of nuturing we thought he was going to pass through Heaven's Gate, but with his will and our love, he's a happy little pup wanting to please, ponder and poop. His story with his new Pet Parents will follow soon...
Hi Lin and Paul.
Na' May had a very good first night. He came home and played so nicely with Tigger and Chiy. I don't think he knows he is so little. Na' May slept with us and of course the other two dogs. Our bed is full. Which is fine with all of us.
Na' May went to see Dr. Boyce today. He had his first distemper parvo vaccine. He is doing great he didn't even cry for a sec. Na' May will go to work with me again tomorrow just because I want to be close to him. He loved running around the clinic. Everyone is in love with him.
I will take lots of pics for you so you can see how well he is doing. Thank You so much for letting us adopt him, he is truly a great addition to our family.
Thanks MelPaul and Lin
Just wanted to give you an update on Na'May. He is doing great. He sleeps pretty much all night we only have to get up twice to go out. He has had a few accidents in the house, but manly goes to the door when he needs to potty. He loves the big boys and goes after them to play every chance he gets. He does not like being away from me. He cries when I leave the room. So Monday should be interesting for my house sitter. I'm not sure how he will do with me being gone all day at work. I have taken him with me the last couple of days. He enjoys it. He runs around the clinic like he belongs there. He likes his new food (Science Diet Lamb and Rice Large Puppy) it has not upset his stomach or given him diarrhea so I'm happy for that. His water has to have ice in it The colder the better. He does not care for cats too much. I'm glad all the cats live in the garage. So, he is doing well. I'll take pics as soon as I find my camera, with two small children and now four dogs I cant seem to find anything. We are looking forward to seeing everyone next Sun.

Unethical treatment by PETA
Forwarded with permission http://www.centredaily.com/business/story/324485.html Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008PETA Killed 97 Percent of 'Companion Animals' in 2006, According to VDACS Center for Consumer FreedomWASHINGTON, Jan. 10 - An official report from People for The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), submitted nine months after a Virginia government agency's deadline, shows that the animal rights group put to death more than 97 percent of the dogs, cats, and other pets it took in for adoption in 2006. During that year, the well-known animal rights group managed to find adoptive homes for just 12 pets. The nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) is calling on PETA to either end its hypocritical angel-of-death program, or stop its senseless condemnation of Americans who believe it's perfectly ethical to use animals for food, clothing, and critical medical research. Not counting animals PETA held only temporarily in its spay-neuter program, the organization took in 3,061 "companion animals" in 2006, of which it killed 2,981. According to Virginia's Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), the average euthanasia rate for humane societies in the state was just 34.7 percent in 2006. PETA killed 97.4 percent of the animals it took in. The organization filed its 2006 report this month, nine months after the VDACS deadline of March 31, 2007. "Pet lovers should be outraged," said CCF Director of Research David Martosko. "There are thousands of worthwhile animal shelters that deserve Americans' support. PETA is not one of them." In courtroom testimony last year, a PETA manager acknowledged that her organization maintains a large walk-in freezer for storing dead animals, and that PETA contracts with a Virginia cremation service to dispose of the bodies. In that trial, two PETA employees were convicted of dumping dead animals in a rural North Carolina trash dumpster. Today in Southampton County, Virginia, another PETA employee will face felony charges in a dog-napping case. Andrea Florence Benoit Harris was arrested in late 2006 for allegedly abducting a hunting dog and attempting to transport it to PETA's Norfolk headquarters. "PETA raised over $30 million last year," Martosko added, "and it's using that money to kill the only flesh-and-blood animals its employees actually see. The scale of PETA's hypocrisy is simply staggering." To speak with a spokesman contact Tim Miller at 202-463-7112.
